$110.00 plus $15.00 Insured U.S. Priority Shipping

This is vintage black mammy stringholder is from the late 1930's or early 1940's. It was hung on the wall to hold a ball of string and the strand came out through the hole above her folded hands. The red bandana, the facial features and the plaid design are all painted. Made by the National Silver Company of New York, it is marked U.S.A. and N.S.Co. on the back. National Silver also made a mammy and a black chef cookie jar.

It measures about 6 5/8" tall by 4" wide and 2 3/4" deep and is in nice condition with minor wear. The paint is in fairly good condition showing a little wear. There is a small chip on the back side just below the hanging hole which was probably done trying to find the nail to hang it on.
